Midland County Kids First

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Midland County Probate Court, and Chapin Hall
This innovative approach to preventing and reducing child maltreatment is the idea of Chief Judge Dorene Allen, Midland County Probate Court. Judge Allen will be convening key community leaders and stakeholders to review data, ask questions and develop ideas to address the factors that contribute to child maltreatment in their county. Working in partnership with Chapin Hall, the Data Lab is analyzing child maltreatment data and related factors, such as parental substance abuse, involvement of fathers and other risk factors to capture important system indicators for child maltreatment in order to assess the scope of the problem in Midland County. Our analysis will be used to inform innovative approaches to prevent or significantly reduce child maltreatment in the county.
