Michael Jerome O’Neill, MSW

Research Assistant

The MSW program pedagogy and the 8 years Michael devoted to working with children and youth in foster care led him to a realization—in order to prevent poor and minority children from entering foster care, child welfare policy must address issues related to racial and economic inequality. Michael’s interest in promoting equity informed child welfare policy/praxis through the application of empirical behavioral science and predictive analytics research. Michael Jerome O’Neill is a University of Michigan Master of Social Work Child Welfare Scholar graduate.
