Washtenaw Juvenile Justice Project – Exploration of Disparities

The University of Michigan Child and Adolescent Data Lab (CADL) has access to data from multiple relevant agencies in Washtenaw County, which allows its team to identify patterns and potential sources of disparities in the juvenile justice system. The analysis includes identifying the referral sources for juveniles reported to the juvenile justice system and analyzing the demographics and case outcomes of the youth based on these sources. This information can be used to focus actions on the most common referral sources, particularly for Black and Latino youth.
