Sophia Nielsen is a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, studying Social Policy & Evaluation with a concentration in Community & Social Systems. Nielsen is passionate about fostering community where all families have access to safety, stability, and overall well-being through socially just policy. Nielsen is working in the Data Lab to assess changing child welfare programs, policies, and legislation through research and data analysis. Before entering the MSW program, Nielsen was a Child Protective Services case manager in Dane County, Wisconsin.
